The story follows the adventures of Eren Jeager, his friends Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Arlert, whose lives are changed forever after a Colossal Titan breaches the wall of their hometown. Vowing revenge from the Titans, Eren and his friends join the Survey Corps, an elite group of soldiers who fights Titans.

The season follows Eren Jaeger and his friends from the 104th Training Corps who have begun to become full members of the Survey Corps. After fighting the Female Titan, Eren finds no time to rest as a horde of Titans is approaching Wall Rose and the battle for humanity continues. A new enemy knows as the Beast Titan appears.

- The Beast Titan appeared out of nowhere and is notable for its climbing abilities and his body resembling one of an ape.
- Reiner Braun and Bertolt Hoover reveal their Titan identities to Eren Jeager and subsequently assume their titan forms as the Armored and Colossal Titans.
- Using this power, Eren commands nearby Titans to devour the Smiling Titan and attack Reiner and Bertolt.
- The Smiling Titan is the titan who kills Eren's mother in season 1.

The season follows Eren and his fellow soldiers from the Survey Corps who are still fighting for their survival against the terrifying Titans. However, threats arise not only from the Titans beyond the walls, but from the humans within them as well. The second half of the season, the Survey Corps led by Erwing Smith embark on a mission to retake Wall Maria, returning to Shinganshina Dictrict that was once Eren's home.

- Experiments on Eren's Titan form continue. Eren discovers that he is only able to transform up to 3 times in a row.
- Kenny Ackerman is found by Levi outside of the collapsed cavern. He reveals that he is Levi's uncle.
- Erwin Smith leads over one hundred soldiers of the Survey Corps on an expedition to Shiganshina under the cover of night.
- Armin Arlert sacrifices himself in a diversionary attack against the Colossal Titan, whom Eren defeats after leaving his Titan form.

The seasons follows Gabi Braun and Falco Grice, young Eldian Warrior candidates seeking to inherit Reiner's Armored Titan four years after the failed mission to claim the Founding Titan. As war heats up and both sides take a heavy death toll, both the Marleyan Warriors and the Survey Corps must question the best approach to claiming victory over the other side.

- Eren Jeager infiltrates Marley using Eren Kruger's identity. He befriends Falco, whom he uses to help deliver some letters.
- Eren Jeager is arrested and placed in an underground cell on account of his insubordination.
- Gabi and Falco escape custody of the Paradis military, fleeing into the wilderness, before coming into contact with the Blouse family.
- Marley initiates it's attack on Paradis Island. Airships carrying Marleyan soldiers fly over Shiganshina District
